2008 Wings of the Spirit Conference: Thursday through Sunday, May 1-4 at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach, FL. The conference planners, keenly aware of the need to converge our efforts to serve the focus of the Five Year Plan, and after consulting with Auxiliary Board Members and others, feel that the Wings to the Spirit Conference can continue to support the goal of bringing the arts to our teaching and community work.
The theme for Wings 2008 is Faith in Motion. All details to date can be found at our just-launched new website. Presenters this year include Ludwig Tuman, Oscar DeGruy, Sonya Bennett, David Guillory, Chris Hampton, John Hatcher, Kim MacQueen, Jalieh Milani, Anne Gordon Perry, Tim Perry, Lisa Puzon, and perhaps a surprise or two!
Look for information about a special event to be included in 2008 – a short film festival! The deadline for entries is March 15, 2008, so please pass the word along to anyone who might be interested.
Registration for the conference is slated to open January 7, 2008. Again this year we have a limit of 100 participants, and it is expected that the spaces will fill quickly.
African Sing-along: Pensacola has monthly African drumming and sing-a-longs usually on the third Saturday of each month. See the Events Page.
Reflection Gathering: The next Reflection Gathering will be Saturday, Feb 9, 2008 at 9:30am. The location will be announced later. Please plan to attend--mark your calendars.
